The Weimar Republic is the name given by historians to the parliamentary republic established in 1919, in Germany, to replace the imperial form of government.
In its 14 years (1919 to 1932), the Weimar Republic was faced with numerous problems, including hyperinflation, political extremists and their paramilitaries, and hostility from the winners of the First World War. However, it overcame many discriminatory regulations of the Treaty of Versailles, reformed the currency, unified tax politics and the railway system.

República de Weimar foi o nome dado pelos historiadores à República parlamentar alemã criada em 1919, para substituir a forma de governo imperial.
Nos seus 14 anos de existência (1919 a 1932) a República de Weimar foi confrontada com inúmeros problemas incluindo a hiperinflação, os extremismos políticos, os grupos paramilitares e a hostilidade por parte dos vencedores da Primeira Guerra Mundial, entre outros. No entanto superou muitas das regulamentações discriminatórias do Tratado de Versalhes, reformou a moeda, a política fiscal e unificou o sistema ferroviário.
