At the beginning of World War I, most of the inhabitants of the Eupen and Malmedy districts considered themselves German and fought for the German Empire during the war. In 1920, the Treaty of Versailles awarded all the communities of Eupen, Malmedy and Sankt Vith, on a provisional basis to Belgium.
These new pages show some stamps and letters from that period.No início da Primeira Guerra Mundial, a maioria dos habitantes dos distritos de Eupen e Malmedy consideravam-se Alemães e lutaram pelo Império Alemão durante a guerra. Em 1920, o Tratado de Versalhes concedeu provisoriamente todas as comunidades de Eupen, Malmedy e Sankt Vith, à Bélgica.
